Anne Byun, the Founder/Designer of Twinklecards launched
the company in January 2002. Prior to this, she spent
many years in the advertising world managing the
development of ad campaigns for clients such as PepsiCo
and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. In search of another
creative outlet, she decided to start her own business
by designing unique handmade greeting cards. Cards that
were truly one of a kind and not to mention hard to
throw away. At first, she questioned whether this hobby
could actually develop into a business. But once retailers
like Barney's New York and Neiman Marcus and the country's largest handmade greeting card distributor (Constance Kay) expressed interest
in her designs, she started to think differently. Anne
experimented vigorously with over 50 different designs over the
course of a year before unveiling her final line. She often likes to refer to her cards as little
pieces of artwork versus greeting cards.
Anne handles all aspects of the company's business including
design, marketing/public relations, and sales. According
to her, there are three things that define her as a
person - her love for golf, appetite for Italian food,
and passion for creativity. She also enjoys designing
jewelry in her spare time (and believe it or not, she often uses the same materials that are used to craft her card designs.
